Build Ex History:

Build Ex is a custom home builder that has been building excellence in Chapel Hill, North Carolina since 1997. Build Ex, Inc. is a Licensed General Contractor with an unlimited commercial and residential license in North Carolina.

Build Ex has established itself as one of the premier custom home builders in the Chapel Hill area. Build Ex's portfolio includes homes in the Oaks and Chapel Hill Country Club area, Governors Village, Governors Club, Maida Vale and other areas throughout Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Durham, and Hillsborough. In recent years, Build Ex has built custom homes ranging from 2,500 square feet to 7,500 square feet with values from the $400's to nearly $2 million.

In 2003, Build Ex expanded into development. Build Ex developed and built Rosemary Village, a mixed-use development located in downtown Chapel Hill. This $12 million project consists of 38 luxury residential condominiums and nearly 5,000 sf of commercial storefronts. Rosemary Village broke ground in the fall of 2004 and was completed in early 2006.

The Build Ex Team:

Build Ex believes in the "team" concept to building. Build Ex sees each project as a team effort between Build Ex, its subcontractors and its clients. The building team works towards the common goal of building the highest quality custom home exactly as the client wants it. The Build Ex builder team consists of three principals: Brian Ehrenfeld, Chris Ehrenfeld, and Jason Dell.

Brian Ehrenfeld, the licensed General Contractor, is responsible for direct supervision of all on-site work. Brian is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Economics. Brian's vast experience and knowledge in the building field and his commitment to oversee each Build Ex project himself assures the highest build quality.

Chris Ehrenfeld runs all of the daily business activities of Build Ex as well as makes strategic financial decisions for the company. Chris is also a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate with a degree in Business Administration and finance. Chris' financial background and experience in dealing with suppliers and subcontractors guarantee projects are completed on time and within budget.

Jason Dell serves as the project manager as well as client service specialist. Jason is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Jason's engineering backgrounds lends technical expertise for additional quality control to safely and accurately transform the project from blueprint to reality. His technical and personal skills help keep our projects on the cutting edge.
